Residential area in Drohobych, Lviv region
I`m student at KNUCA (Kyiv). My English isn`t perfect and sometimes I shall write sentenses in Ukrainian to keep clearly emotions. Thanks for insight!
Drohobych is located in western Ukraine in the Center of Lviv region. Drohobych has a fairly developed railway connection between cities. This makes it possible to get to the city without transfers. As for the direct analysis of a section of our territory, we first highlighted the positive aspects. Let's start with the fact that our plot is located 15 minutes from the center, in a quiet neighborhood with a lot of greenery. Drohobych has a large number of educational institutions, including schools and colleges. The city has railway connections with other cities, so there is a railway station within the city limits.Let's move from positive to negative. Unfortunately, there is a huge amount of construction debris on the site, the river has an unpleasant smell due to excessive clogging, there is a lack of places for pets to walk, the condition of the sidewalks is critical. There is also a view from the plot of the garage cooperatives, which do not evoke positive impressions/ Acoarding to geomorphological features of our site, there is a risk of flooding, as a large amount of underground water is hidden under the site, in relation to the existing river, it is necessary to take urgent measures, because this can lead to the total clogging and disappearance of the river. From the risks, we also identified continuous development with typical houses.Considering all aspects and risks, we see the following opportunities for the development of our site. The presence of a park zone can serve as a transit zone for residents of our district. The existing river will serve as a conditional line of demarcation between recreational and residential zones, preservation of green spaces, creation of new public squares, and unification of these zones with green corridors, creation of an artificial reservoir to prevent undesirable consequences of flooding, creation of interactive spaces for residents.
