Are we winning? Exhibition
The experimental exhibition Are we winning? will open on Tuesday 27 June at 6 p.m. at Mala galerija Banke Slovenije in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
The project, a result of the collaboration between curators Francesca Paola Beltrame, Allan Mensah, students of the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Ljubljana, as well as other invited creatives, is researching the world of the hidden as well as the very visible problems of award-giving in architecture. Architectural awards in many ways define what architecture is, however they predominantly highlight one single output of the architectural practice: built environment.
By selecting new criteria of what is important in architectural practice, we can highlight architectural theory, practices and built environment that can contribute to social equity, visibility, inclusivity, the preservation of the un-built environment and the balancing act of building anew and adaptive reuse.
The exhibition will be running from June to August 2023. The project is conceived by the LINA platform and the curators, in collaboration with the Jože Plečnik Fund on the topic of award-giving in Europe on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Plečnik Award.
