Experiments Exchange: Paris / Vilnius

This year, Architektūros Fondas’ and Theatrum Mundi explored shared questions between Paris and Vilnius. How can we work with the natural resources of urban rivers, learn from traditional bioregional building techniques, or repair the links between city and agricultural lands?
The Experiments Exchange invited three emerging Lithuanian architects participating in the Experiments Platform to develop speculative design research through a residency organised by Theatrum Mundi in Paris as part of the Saison Lituanie en France 2024. They were mentored by Océane Ragoucy, plus participants in Theatrum Mundi's Staging Ground residency Ewa Effiom and Margarida Waco.
On Thursday 14th November, the project concluded with a screening of Laurynas Skeisgiela's documentary following the research, and an installation of project posters. We also brought together French and Lithuanian urbanists to expand on these ideas by sharing their own practices that address ideas of commons, care, and new narratives for transformation: LINA fellows Océane Ragoucy and Johanna Musch (Umarell Collective), as well as French architect Théo Mouzard (Collectif Etc.) and Lithuanian landscape and scenography designer Sigita Simona.
